What is witch calender?

There are several calendars referred to as "witch calendars," each with their own unique features and purposes.

  1. Wheel of the Year: This is arguably the most well-known witch calendar, which celebrates the changing seasons and cycles of nature. It consists of eight Sabbats or festivals spaced evenly throughout the year, marking important points on the agricultural and astronomical calendar. These Sabbats are Samhain, Yule, Imbolc, Ostara, Beltane, Litha, Lughnasadh, and Mabon.

  2. Lunar Calendar: This calendar focuses on the cycles of the moon and its impact on various areas of life, including fertility, agriculture, and spiritual practices. Many witches use the lunar calendar for spells and rituals, as the moon's energy is believed to be a powerful force for transformation and manifestation.

  3. Sun Calendar: This type of calendar is based on the movements of the sun and its impact on the seasons and daily life. It often emphasizes the relationship between the sun and natural cycles, such as the solstices and equinoxes.

  4. Celtic Tree Calendar: This calendar is based on the ancient Celtic Ogham tree alphabet, where each tree is associated with a specific month and has symbolic meanings and spiritual significance.

Regardless of the type of witch calendar used, they all share a common focus on the interconnectedness of nature, spirituality, and the passage of time.
